CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet
The CSIRO is Australia's national science agency. So given that health and wellness are becoming national concerns (we're catching up to the US in obesity levels!), the CSIRO has been working on healthy eating habits.
Being a science agency, they have followed protocol and performed case studies, with control groups, and based the eating plan on scientific principles.
They've come up with a low calorie, low fat, protein plus diet, focussing on lean meats, low-GI carbohydrates, whole grains, and lots of vegetables and fruits, combined with regular exercise.
They've been publishing it in the Sydney Morning Herald, with sample menus and stories from happy people. There is now also a book called the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet, by Dr Manny Noakes and Dr Peter Clifton, released in May 2005 and available from Seekbooks in Australia.
You can also read about it and other diets at www.womens-health-and-fitness.com
cheers
Chris
